Gainsborough State School upholds music as an integral component within every child’s education. Music helps students grow in self-esteem, build essential skills and prepare for bright futures. Comprehensive studies have shown that studying a musical instrument has many positive flow-on effects to other areas of learning.
The benefits of being involved in the program include:
• engaging in mathematical, linguistic, spatial and creative thinking,
• building technical skills, especially fine motor skills,
• developing self confidence through performance, and
• experiencing team work skills within the ensemble.
